Why Mairéad?

Nature shows us that life can grow and thrive when the right conditions are in place. And the same applies to us.

The change we seek needs support. So does the changemaker.

My MO

Be kind

I believe that kindness is the medicine the world needs. In my experience, kindness creates connection and open-heartedness. It provides protection from the harshness of the world, and can be an oasis in the desert, a port in the storm. It inspires people to care for others, to care for themselves and to protect the vulnerable in our world.

Be real

Being real is about showing up in the world as you are. When we’re real we can relax into ourselves and funnily enough it allows other people to relax wit us. When we’re real it gives permission to the other people around us to be real. It’s about bringing your whole self, exactly as you are.

Go deep

Creating physical and psychological environments of safety is important to me, because I believe people can relax when they feel safe. And in relaxation fresh answers and insights can have room to emerge.

Support connection

In my experience, the embodied approach of working somatically creates a mind-body connection that allows sustainable change to happen. Because all parts of us are on board. And when we’re embodied, connectio can happen more easily with the rest of the world.

What I bring

I bring a passion for guiding people to a sense of deep meaning and belonging in their lives. In my years of facilitating individual and group experiences I’ve seen how deep inner harmony can come from being connected with yourself, with others and with the greater ecosystem that we call home.

I’ve worked with people like you from all walks of life and have come to see that kindness, connection and support will always carry people through.

I moved my life across the planet and made the dramatic career change from engineering to therapy and coaching. So navigating transition is familiar to me.

Combining engineering mind, business experience, therapeutic skill and love of nature

My background

I grew up in Ireland, in the years before it became the progressive country it is today.

In my mid-twenties life carried me to the other side of the planet. And by some gift of fate I found the mountains. And they changed my life forever.

I suppose they awakened the more sensitive, alive part of me. They stretched me to my limits and showed me what I’m capable of. They broke me down and lifted me up at the very same time. A deeply humbling experience.

From that time in my life was birthed a twin interest in human potential and the natural environment that has guided me ever since.

The work I do is always going to be influenced by the way I look at the world and what makes me tick.

My work is informed by a nature-based philosophy, shaped from a lifelong love of the natural world. I believe that being ‘grown up’ doesn’t have to mean losing touch with the awe and wonder that nature inspires in us.

I feel pretty passionately about each person finding their own unique way of doing life. One size does not fit all, and we cannot be squeezed into a box just because it statistically fits the majority.

THE HEALING POWER OF TEARS
Along with keeping our eyes lubricated
and helping them get rid of irritants
and allergens, tears have a third
purpose: releasing emotions that could
literally otherwise be making us sick.
