Natural Embodiment through Wild Connections
Natural Embodiment through Wild Connections Workshop
This workshop is designed to deepen your relationship with nature in an embodied way that’s meaningful for you. It’s an opportunity to soften and lean into the living world, to drop into a deeper relationship with nature and with life.
As therapists, self-care and restorative practices are increasingly important, particularly when working with trauma. The benefits of time in nature are not only intuitive, but are long documented. And the results show that spending time in nature can be a powerful way to heal the wounds of trauma.
Exposure to nature is associated with reduced cortisol, higher levels of parasympathetic activity, and alpha wave activity, which increases serotonin. These responses simultaneously calm and focus the mind, and support trauma healing. Feeling a connection with nature, in particular, is associated with greater psychological resilience. And spending time in nature enhances interpersonal connections.
Here lies an opportunity to simply be with the elements and the creatures of the vibrant, rich natural environment of the forest.
